1. We are leading the fight for food equity.

Affordable access to healthy food, especially fresh fruits and vegetables, is too often a luxury in this nation. Tens of millions of Americans in disadvantaged neighborhoods are over-exposed to nutrition-poor, calorie-rich diets of fast and ultra-processed foods. The impact on personal health and happiness, as well as the health of communities and our nation, is devastating. To meet this need, PHA works at all levels of the food landscape to advance food equity for all Americans.

2. We are crafting sustainable solutions to America’s food and nutrition crisis.

Working at every level of the food landscape, from producers to distributors to retailers to food banks, we are bringing emergency fresh food to families who need it at this critical time and building a bridge to affordable access for underserved communities in the long-term. Our programs are creative, inclusive, community-based, measurable, efficient, and effective. For instance, by working with our food bank partners to improve the health of their food and beverage offerings, PHA is able to reach approximately 5 million food-insecure Americans.

3. With your support, we can reach even more Americans.

I am sure that you agree that every American should have access to affordable, healthy food options. We know how to make this a reality. What we need are the resources to expand our programming into even more communities around the country. You can help us provide millions of low-income Americans with healthier options to eat. Throughout the pandemic, PHA has distributed more than 1.7 million servings of fresh fruits and vegetables to communities in need through our COVID-19 Fresh Food Fund.
